Background: So how did Phoenix Youth Circus Arts end up going to Utah? It goes back to 1986 when PYCA director Jens Larson and long-time Moab resident Ranna Bieschke, director of the Moab half marathon, met while both were working for the Pickle Family Circus in San Francisco. Recently, some time in the 2017 PYCA summer schedule opened up and Ranna was quick to find Moab locals that were able to help arrange things. Everyone agreed Moab needs a circus!
