CIRCUS SUMMER CAMP 2018

Phoenix Youth Circus Arts will hold two one-week sessions of Circus Summer Day Camp in two locations in June, 2018. For information on the Central Phoenix location see below. For information on the Moab, Utah location scroll down this page.

Here are what some parents are saying about our camp!

“My daughter had a blast last week! She told me that it was hands down the best camp she’s ever been to! “  N. Lawson (June 2018)

“I can’t emphasize enough how impressed I am by the program you’ve created and your talent both in circus arts and in mentoring children. We are so lucky to have found you and your team. You are a huge asset to the community. My son has a spark in him today I’ve not seen before.” A. Hartman (June 2018)

Phoenix Camp

Session 1: Monday June 4 – Friday June 8

Session 2: Monday June 11 – Friday June 15

Times: 9AM – 3PM each day (drop-off time from 8:30-9:00)

Location: Emerson Elementary School (10th St and Palm Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85006)

Who can sign up?: kids ages 7 – 15

What will the kids do?: Campers will learn all the circus basics – juggling of different forms (flower sticks, balls, clubs, poi, diabolos, plate spinning), acrobatics (tumbling, mini-trampoline, partner acrobatics, human pyramids), and balancing (tight wire, rolling globe, rola bola, stilts, and unicycles). Aerial skills such as Spanish Web, trapeze, and silks will also be offered. Each camper gets to try all the different skills, then towards the end of the week, they choose two to specialize in. The last day of camp finishes with a show for family and friends!

Cost: Circus camp sessions are $200 per week. Limited scholarships will be available for some campers whose families need financial help at a rate of $75 per week, with preference given to neighborhood children and current and past PYCA students. Contact Jens (jens@phxyouthcircus.org) for more information on scholarships.

Payment:  Registration and Payment for camp can be done via credit or debit card here

Payments are made to the  “Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona” (TAP AZ is PYCA’s fiscal sponsor). The payment platform currently is primarily designed for fundraising so when registering, the wording is unusual – a week of camp is a”ticket” and also listed as a “reward” for your payment. If you have questions, contact Jens (jens@phxyouthcircus.org) . Personal checks made out to “TAP AZ” can also be mailed to the contact address on this website.

Camp limit: Registrations will be limited to 28 campers.

Cancellation policy – Full payment is due to register for camp. In order to assure we have the correct staffing levels, we will use the following policy: If you need to cancel your registration, 50% of the cost will be returned if the cancellation is within four weeks of the start of the camp session you have paid for. Between four weeks and one week prior to the start of a camp session, 25% will be returned. Less than one week before the start of camp, there will be no refund.

Registration Form – each camp participant must have a completed registration and liability waiver form by the beginning of camp. You can view and download the form here.  For “name of class”, write Phoenix Summer Day Camp.
