PYCA is now 10 years old! In the fall of 2014 I had one class at one school, ACCLAIM Academy (where we still work every Tuesday!), and it was me, Jens, all by myself. Now there are many of us busily working most days of the week nearly year-round. With the help of friends like you, and hard work by our wonderful coaches, we are able to bring the magic of circus to hundreds of youth and make Phoenix a more fun place to be a kid.
2024 has brought continued successes with all our offerings — weekly classes, summer camps, workshops and special events, public participation areas at festivals, parades, and public performances. Kids from all over the Phoenix area have benefited from our classes, hundreds of people have seen our shows, and we have collaborated with some wonderful non-profits serving the community in their own way.
Won’t you join us and help keep all these good things coming to Phoenix? There are challenges ahead – more equipment is needed, the cost to rent space for our summer camps is increasing, insurance costs and complications increase, more systemization of staff training is needed, and there are decreases coming in federal grant money to Arizona schools. AND we are starting a new teen circus troupe in 2025 for which scholarship funds will be needed – there are kids that really love and need circus and we want all of them to be in our troupe regardless of their family’s circumstances.
