Homeschool Circus

Introduction: Phoenix Youth Circus Arts holds classes that are open to home-school kids ages 7-16. At our weekly classes, kids are introduced to all the juggling, balancing, and acrobatic arts and also given the opportunity to put extra effort on the skills that give them special joy. Informal demonstrations at the end of each class introduce kids to circus as a performing art – and opportunities to participate on a voluntary basis in public shows throughout the year are sought and encouraged.

Note: ALL Youth ages 11-17 from any school or home school situation are also eligible to be part of the PYCA Youth Troupe.

If you have your own home school group or a public, private, or charter school community that would like a single class or series of classes near you, write to jens@phxyouthcircus.org or call 480-444-8617. We can meet you in an available public or private space near where your participants live!

New for 2026-2027! ALL Thursday Classes are Indoors!

Thursday morning homeschool classes will meet during the entire school year at Aeroterra Arts (3418 S 48th St suite 308 Phoenix AZ 85040-1939) Aerial arts (silks, trapeze, lyra) are now part of the home school circus curriculum along with all the other fun balancing, juggling, and acrobatic skills.

Cash or Credit Card Class prices: Cash and checks (made out to “TAPAZ-PYCA”) are accepted at the class location. 

  • Single drop-in class $30
  • Semester price Fall 2026; 14 classes; $350 (save $70 – paying per class costs $420)
  • Semester price Winter/Spring 2027; 20 classes; $500 (save $100 – paying per class costs $600)

ESA funds / Class Wallet prices: PYCA is an approved vendor. Ask for an invoice to be sent. Contact jens@phxyouthcircus.org. Class Wallet fees and the extra work involved requires a different price and can only be done on a semester basis – invoices can be prorated for a late start or other circumstances for a partial semester.

  • ESA/Class Wallet price winter/spring semester 2027: 20 meetings; $540

PYCA maintains a “no-one-turned-away-for-lack-of-funds” policy, so contact PYCA for special arrangements.

New Students: Your first class is free and a student can join at any time of year, but please let jens@phxyouthcircus.org know you will be attending and complete the online registration/waiver forms. The online forms can be done from a smart phone or a computer in either English or Spanish. For “location of class” choose “Home School Class”. Students that have already turned in the registration during the year, do not need to re-register.
