Heatherbrae Elementary Circus Club

A new type of circus club has started at Heatherbrae Elementary School (7070 W Heatherbrae Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85033), in the Cartwright School District. It consists of 25 second and third graders, which are younger grades than the ones we work with at other schools. We are working in conjunction with two teachers of those grades, Ms Williams and Ms Combs – who will be learning not only how to juggle themselves but how to help teach the various juggling skills to the club members along with the two PYCA coaches. Having the deep commitment and assistance of the teachers who already know the kids so well will be great for the kids.

As with all the clubs, students will learn the basics of various juggling acts (balls, scarves, hoops, flower sticks, plate spinning), balancing acts (tight wire, rola bola, rolling globe, and hand stilts), and acrobatics (tumbling, partner acrobatics, and human pyramids)
