EVERYONE CAN JOIN THE CIRCUS!!!!!
Phoenix Youth Circus Arts is teaming up with the Florence Unified School District Community Education department to produce “Circus Saturdays” a series of 3-hour circus arts workshops on Saturday mornings at the the Community Education School (29895 N Desert Willow Blvd, San Tan Valley 85143). Each will be a separate event – The nextworkshop is on February 16.
All children in grades 3 – 8, whether enrolled in FUSD schools or not, are eligible to take part in the workshop. Students will have a chance to explore many different circus arts! Beginners welcome! Drop in for one session or attend the entire series!
Acrobatics: Tumbling, Partner balancing, Mini-trampoline, Human pyramids
Juggling: Balls, Scarves, Flower Sticks, Diabolo, Poi, Hula Hoops
Aerial Arts: Silks, Trapeze, Spanish Web, Lyra,
Balancing: Tight Wire, Rola Bola, Unicycling, Stilt Walking
All participants will be introduced to several different skills in each workshop – but we can’t get to them all in one day, so stay tuned for additional dates. There will be time for students to choose which skills to spend additional time on within the workshop schedule – and everyone gets to participate in an informal “show off” period at the end of each session to demonstrate something they are working on.
